The SI Magwell is the latest addition to the Stan Chen Custom Magwell family. It delivers greatly enhanced reloads, elegant design and maximum durability.
Solid, one piece construction.
Large sculpted funnel for dramatically faster reloads. Through careful CAD design, every last millimeter of available real estate was turned into reload-enhancing surface area.
Designed to very nicely match the beveled magazine wells commonly found on current production 1911s, such as Springfields, Kimbers, Dan Wessons and current Colts (2018 production with fully beveled magazine well) .
Most Colts made prior to 2018, and other frames without full magazine bevels, will require minor blending. (See pictures above). We offer a "Blend Kit" to facilitate this (located under "Accesories").
Eliminates sharp frame corners. Unique funnel profile eliminates sharp edges at front of magazine well opening on the frame. Smoothing of all surfaces on the entire part yields total carry comfort.
Low profile roundbutt. Flowing design. The lines of the entire magwell were designed to flow well with the pistol, giving the bottom of the pistol a cohesive, custom look.
Custom quality checkering. Equaled only by the very best gunsmiths. Perfectly formed diamonds, row after row. Even at 20x magnification. Enhances recoil control.
One-Piece Durability. Precision CNC machined from a solid block of heat treated steel. No joints or screws to work loose, ever.

Best fit on a new Colt
After looking at a Wilson magwell on my Colt I opted for the Chen customs shooter installed magwell. Zero fitment required to get it installed. Only if you want to blend it with the frame. Ready for some speedy reloads.

I had always wanted to get one of these.
I have al2ays wanted to get one of these magwells. I recently bought a brand new Colt and wanted to get do some upgrades to it. First item of choice was the Chen magwell. The design is great , but it has a gap in between the frame and the magwell. I have installed numerous magwells on numerous pistols and never seen anything like this before. I guess I had a had expectation because I've always heard these are the best and they sure do cost like they are. Real bummer honestly.

Thoroughly impressed with this Magwell. Far better fit and finish than the factory Nighthawk Magwell (installed by the factory no less) that it replaced. Direct match to my GRP frame, no fitting required and looks like it was made for the gun.

SI Magwell (Blued)
The SI Magwell was an amazing upgrade for my 1911! It was incredibly easy to install even though I am fairly new to the 1911 platform. The only trouble I had was my 1911 has an ambi safety (the video demonstrating the install only has a left side) which made it a little different. But it fits perfectly with no modifying for a Springfield 1911 Operator. The blued finish is almost an exact match to the overall finish of the pistol as well and I am very satisfied with the look. I also really enjoy the checkering on the mainspring housing and find it is a vast upgrade to the stock texture the pistol came with. Very impressed with this products quality!
